¡Inshallah!

4. THE CHILDREN OF THE BOOK

Judaism, Christianism, Islam. Let’s unveil the mistery. Seculars in nobody’s land.

“Imagine yourself as the other is a powerful antidote against fanaticism and hatred”, says the Lebanese writer Amos Oz. This chapter of Linatakalam series tackles the lines of union and fracture of the three religions – Jewish, Christian and Moslem – and its complex relation with the secular thought and civil society. The Mediterranean is the common craddle of the Torah, the Bible and the Qur’ān but also the Greek philosophy and the  library of Alexandria.

In this chapter, the art of Linatakalam stops at the foot of the pyramids and the temples of Agrigento; It searchs through the map the traces of Abraham and reflects about the origins of so many wars made  in the name of God. Our sceneries are the graveyards of Istambul and Tunisia, the City of the Dead in Cairo or the sunset from the Bosphorous bridges.

The interviews with people from politics and culture analyze the possibility of an alliance between the three Mediterranean creeds involved in a common strategy to promote tolerance, convivence and the  no violence culture and fight against fundamentalism and religious fanatism. ¡Inshallah!
